Mission Statement
The mission of the Knight’s Art Challenge grant is to provide art and cultural programming to its students and community members through cultural exposure. These cultural events, through Knight Foundation’s vast network, will continue the robust dissemination and exchange of ideas that can continue to inform other grantees and community partners of best practices and the identification of the resources necessary to advance the mission of the Hialeah Cultural Center beyond the scope of the current work.
Our History
The Hialeah Cultural Center at Miami Dade College-Hialeah Campus has become a focal point for the celebration and preservation of the City of Hialeah’s culture and art. Through curated exhibitions, art lectures, film studies, oral history projects, and juried competitions for high school students, MDC students, faculty, and members of the community have expanded their appreciation and knowledge of Hialeah’s rich culture and view the Center as a catalyst for aesthetics and creative activities within the campus, the City of Hialeah, and surrounding communities.
